These gene families include G protein coupled receptors (GPCRs), proteases, kinases, phosphatases and ion channels thought to be involved in diseases of the cardiovascular, central nervous, gastrointestinal and immune systems, as well as in oncology, metabolism, inflammatory disorders, reproduction and hematology.
